On Pagoda Mountain there was a Zen master who lived in a nest of woven twigs in the fork of a great tree, and the villagers called him the Crow's Nest Hermit, and wanted to climb up and pay respects, over objection that the man was giving off, to Wukong's furnace-sharpened eyes, a distinctly non-human light.
