Wukong got out from under the three mountains the way he now gets out of everything he cannot punch: he called for help. The mountain-gods and the guardians of the region, who serve Heaven and had been press-ganged by the demons into holding the peaks down, heard the Great Sage's name and remembered whose side they were supposed to be on, and lifted the mountains off him, apologising, and he crawled out furious and refocused and went to get his family back.
But the Lotus Cave's treasures were the problem, and the best of them was the gourd.
